Pendo in WordPress Admin

WordPress VIP is planning to include additional application measurement tools in WordPress Admin. These tools will allow VIP to be more responsive to user needs, more rapidly improve our products, and provide contextual guidance to WordPress Admin users.

We are using Pendo to enable this tooling.

You may notice the Pendo Agent is now being included in WordPress admin. All information is being collected, stored, and processed following our Privacy Policy.

Your organization can opt out of including Pendo on your site. To do so, contact VIP Support. Currently opt-outs are at the organizational level so all applications will be affected. When opted out, the Pendo agent will not be installed or run on any of your applications.

Will Pendo be included on my front-end visitor-facing website?

No. Pendo is not installed on your visitor-facing website. It will only exist in the WordPress admin.

Will Pendo be included for all logged-in users?

No. Pendo is only included when a user has the edit_posts capability. That means the activity of subscriber roles, Woo customers, and other less privileged, logged-in users will not be analyzed.

We already use Pendo in WordPress, what should we do?

We have made efforts to ensure that our installation does not interfere with any existing Pendo tracking. When we are in doubt we do not initialize Pendo. We will always preference your Pendo implementation over our own. If you are concerned, we recommend opting out of Pendo tracking by contacting VIP Support.

I am a FedRAMP customer. Is Pendo enabled?

No. While Pendo is housed in FedRAMP compliant architecture, we have chosen to not include Pendo for any customer using our FedRAMP authorized service.
