About WordPress VIP
Open ecosystem. Enterprise security. Content as business asset.
WordPress VIP is the enterprise content platform for teams where
downtime isn’t a budget line item — it’s a headline. That’s why the
world’s largest media companies, global institutions, and government
agencies run here.
Trusted by over 700 enterprises
Organizations that publish under the pressure of election nights, product launches, and breaking news run on WordPress VIP. 22 billion requests served on U.S. election night 2024 with 100% uptime. No emergency prep, no pricing overages. That’s what the platform is engineered for.
What is WordPress VIP?
WordPress VIP is an enterprise content management platform owned by Automattic, the company founded by WordPress co-creator Matt Mullenweg. WordPress VIP achieved FedRAMP Moderate authorization in 2025 and acquired content analytics platform Parse.ly in 2021.

Part of the Automattic family
WordPress VIP is part of Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, Jetpack, and Tumblr, and one of the largest contributors to the WordPress open-source project.
That position is practical, not just organizational. The team building WordPress VIP is also building WordPress itself. Core improvements arrive faster. Platform knowledge runs deeper. The commitment to Open Source WordPress is long term, not a vendor relationship.
Our team
The WordPress VIP team includes engineers, product managers, support specialists, and strategists who worked inside the organizations they now serve. Many came from newsrooms, digital agencies, and enterprise technology teams before joining VIP.
That background matters. Support is technical, not scripted. Strategic guidance is grounded in operational experience. The people solving your problems have solved similar ones before, usually at scale, always under deadline.
Our values
Transparency
Say what’s true, including what we don’t yet know. Customers and colleagues get direct answers, not managed messaging.
Accountability
Own outcomes, not just
deliverables. When something goes wrong, say so, explain what happened, and fix it.
Empathy
Publishing operations run on trust —
in the platform, in the team, and in the information coming through both. We don’t take that lightly.
Communication
Clear, consistent, proportional. Documentation developers actually use, and the context customers need
to make informed decisions.
How we work
The WordPress VIP team is distributed across time zones and continents. No central office. The habits that make a distributed team effective — like clear documentation, direct communication, and asynchronous by default — are the same ones that make us effective partners for customers who never stop publishing.
